Something old & something new

Tell me the old old story is the name of a hymn Eunice used to sing as a child.

Tell me the old, old story,
Of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory,
Of Jesus and His love;
Tell me the story simply,
As to a little child,
For I am weak and weary,
And helpless and defiled.

Tell me the old, old story,
Tell me the old, old story,
Tell me the old, old story,
Of Jesus and His love.  Arabella Katherine Hankey, 1866

That is what Au and I are doing, several times each week. We’ve shared in small groups and in homes, at Wegmans Markets and in public audiences of over 100+. God has a plan for the nations and He calls His people to be involved in that work by prayer, by going and by sending. In this season of partnership development, we are being called to tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love. May every people and every tongue rejoice to praise His holy name!

We have also been harnessing the power of modern technologies, using video-conferencing to tell this story of Jesus and His love to friends across time zones, boundaries and borders. Friends new to us and friends that we are getting the opportunity to reconnect with. New friends, old friends. New methods, timeless story.

“I am the Lord; that is my name!
    I will not yield my glory to another
    or my praise to idols.
 See, the former things have taken place,
    and new things I declare;
before they spring into being
    I announce them to you.”

 Sing to the Lord a new song,  his praise from the ends of the earth,

you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it,
    you islands, and all who live in them. Isaiah 42: 8 – 10

How can it be that we have the privilege and honor of praising our Lord in a new way, telling others of His plans for the nations? Why has He chosen us to tell His story in the ageless way of one to one and in the new way, using the power of media and technology? Oh, it doesn’t matter why! It just matters that we be faithful to tell the story!
Will you pray that we be faithful to the one who has called us?
Will you pray about His call on your life?
How can each one of us walk in daily intimacy with the lover of our souls, the one who shed His blood that we might know Him?

    I enjoy reading and learning about your mission. Very intriguing and I am very happy to know that God is using you both in this chapter of your lives, together.
