When world news affects you

Hong Kong airport on Monday, August 12

Eunice arrived in the US two weeks ago and Au is scheduled to depart from Singapore in 10 hours, meeting Colleen’s grandparents in Hong Kong for their connecting flights.

There is confusion about whether Colleen’s grandparents’ flight has been canceled and if they need to book another flight. As of this moment, Au’s flight to Hong Kong is still scheduled but there are no assurances about departing flights from Hong Kong once he gets there.

There is unrest in Hong Kong and much of it is focused at the airport. Will you pray that all three of these well-loved and important family members can arrive in time for Colleen’s wedding on Sunday?

Yet as important as this is to us, our hearts are saddened at the disturbances and lack of genuine peace in Hong Kong. Please join us in asking the Lord to use this for His glory and to create a yearning for Christ. He is the one “anointed to bring good news to the poor and sent to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”

PS. Au arrived safely Tuesday night. We are praying for Colleen’s grandparents to arrive Saturday, just in time for the wedding!
