Partnering to Face the Task Unfinished – Day 1

There is a task the Lord commanded us that is still unfinished.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 28: 18 – 20

Can we really say that we have finished this task when over 638 million peoples* remain unreached in East Asia? They have no local faith community where they can worship the Lord in spirit and in truth in their heart language! How will we answer our Lord when he asks if we’ve been busy doing our Lord’s business?

Au and I realize anew the truth to these words from the Lord.

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2

Do we dare ask the question?

Is the reason why the laborers are few is because we don’t pray earnestly?

What would happen if together we prayed earnestly, fervently and faithfully? Might the Lord send out more laborers? How dare we think he wouldn’t keep His promises! J.O.Fraser, who pioneered work among the Lisu people, once said,

solid, lasting missionary work is done on our knees.

Will you join Au and me in praying earnestly for 40 days that the Lord would send out laborers? We are calling this focused time of prayer Knee-dy Days of Summer.

Each day for 40 days we’ll post a FlyingHorses musing and prayer as we wait on the Lord to confirm His calling for us to labor in East Asia. The day our 40 days prayer watch completes is the day we await confirmation from the Lord that we have met our partnership target that will release us to join OMF’s Orientation Course in October, 2018 – the final opportunity for us to reach Singapore in 2018.
